November 2008. Calamity strikes! Following a series of storms and severe rainshows, the road leading from Rapino to Montorio has been closed by the local communal authorities in Teramo. Several mudslides have occured making this important byway largely impassible. Many citizens of Rapino have been petitioning the communal authorities over the years to perform the needed maintainance that would likely have prevented this sad state of affairs. Several local groups plan to travel to Teramo to express their outrage at the local highway department. “We want our road back….and soon!” was the rallying cry of one group of angered citizens who dared to hazard their way to the friable freeway.- Sunday 23 August 2009 – Rapino in Festa – Cinema all’Aperto! “Ragazzi vi invito tutti al cinema all’aperto a Rapino – domenica 23!
